Miley Fundamental Fund 11-07-2010 Update Hello again, folks. Last week was good one for stock holders in general and even better for holders of the Fundamental Fund. All good things must come to end and I am removing American Family (AFAM) from the fund. You may remember my admonition that you should not become married to a particular stock; therefore, I am taking the 35.6% gain and using the profits to acquire new stocks. Of course, you are free to make you own decisions, but I would definitely recommend at least lowering your holdings in this stock and taking some profits. Also, I am removing Healthspring (HS) from the fund. Although we are only up 5.3% with this stock, I am less than sanguine about its potential for further gains. Based on my additional research, I think that Medicare reimbursements to this company may be less reliable than I originally thought, so I am recommending selling the stock and taking a small profit. Finally, I am lowering holdings but not totally selling Inter Digital (IDCC). IDCC is up about 35%, so I think it is time to take some profits. However, I do see potential for growth and I am keeping some shares in the fund. I do have a new addition to the fund this week. I am adding Marvel Technology (MRVL) as a buy. Marvel is a semiconductor company is a global provider of silicon solutions for data storage, communications and consumer markets. Marvel’s ROE is close to 19%, its revenue growth over the past 5 years was about 18%, the past 5 year growth rate was about 39% and its estimated future earnings growth is 16.6%. The company also has a healthy balance sheet with very little debt. Some analysts feel that the all the good news has been priced into the stock but I see some potential for further growth, especially as the economy improves and order volume increases. We shall see who is correct. As always, I urge you to do your research, and make buying decisions based on your own resources and investment philosophy. Also, consult with a CPA or other financial advisor as necessary. Disclosure: I hold all stocks in the fund, but I may trade stocks in the fund at my sole discretion at any time.
